Weapons for the End

Be sure to follow me on twitter. https://twitter.com/preppersgear

When an apocalypse happens there are many things you have to worry about, but I believe that the main worry should be about the people around you. This is because when faced with the decision of dying or killing you and surviving, most people would be more then willing to kill you. I know if someone stood between me and my survival I would not hesitate to kill you, I also know for a fact that I would be more then willing to protect myself, my family, and the people I am with. If you are not willing to protect what you have by any means necessary, you may be in for a world of hurt in the post apocalyptic world. This is why I will list a few weapons that will help you defend your ground.

  • ar-15
    • This is the most common weapon I believe for preppers through out the world. This is because it has a high rate of fire, large magazine sizes, powerful, cheap, and readily available. You can buy an ar-15 starting at around $500 dollars. Now the fact that you would be able to buy one for $500 dollars, doesn't mean that you should. I would recommend buying one in the range of around $1000 dollars. There are many different types of ar-15s, not just by different companies but you can also get them in .22cal, .223 Remington, or 5.56 Nato. My personal recommendation is the Colt le6920, this is around $1000, you can find it for less. This is military quality and specs. Colt is the company that provides the M4 for the US military and this weapon is the civilian version of that. If you have been in the military, or you trust that the US military is using the highest quality possible then get this weapon. If you don’t believe that then believe me when I say that this weapon has not failed me once, never had a jam, and never had a problem. However if you would rather pick a different one, there are hundreds of different kinds of ar-15 out there, pick the one that best fits you and your budget.

  • 9mm
    • There are many different types of handguns out there in the world and many different calibers. However I believe the 9mm is the best because of how cheap they are and how cheap the ammo is. Another benefit is that a 9mm can typically carry around 15 rounds in a mag where as a .45 caliber can only have about 9, sometimes even less. As before, you may notice that I like military grade weapons, and for the 9mm I will recommend the Bereta M9.This is what the US military uses and this is what I would use. I have shot many rounds through this gun, it is accurate, does not have to much of a recoil, and it is light. If you haven't noticed I like military weapons because they are rugged and tend to be very reliable.

  • Rifle
    • This is a very broad section because I am excluding all assault rifles from this and only talking about hunting rifles that more families have. There are many different calibers of hunting rifles out there. I was brought up on 30-06, however I know a lot of people that tend to lean toward the more powerful .308. I do not really have a preference towards this because of the fact that I rarely shoot these kinds of rifles so I would recommend researching online, testing them out, and finding the best one that would work for you. Everyone is different, and their preferences towards weapons is also different, so you just need to do you.

  • Bow and Arrow
    • This is very common now, especially since the Walking Dead came out and everyone saw Daryl wielding his crossbow. The biggest benefit of the bow and arrow is that the ammo is pretty much ever lasting. They are somewhat cheap, you can get some in the low hundreds, however I am not an expert in Bows and would not recommend going straight for the cheapest weapon out there. That is just my opinion though. My personal preference is a crossbow, but that is only because they look cooler and they are easier to use because they are just like shooting a gun basically. However they take a lot longer to reload which could hinder you, especially if you are not strong enough to pull the string back, which a lot of people are not able to.  But like all the other weapons, do what fits best for you.

These are just a few of the weapons choices out there, but I believe that they are the most likely for anyone to use in the post apocalyptic world. I would recommend having at least one gun and enough ammo to take over a small country. I believe that you can never have to much ammo.
