Nuclear War

I have gone over some of the ways the apocalypse could happen in my other post, “How the Apocalypse will Happen”. I thought that I would go through the ways in a little more detail, and give each way a post of their own. The first one I will be talking about is the nuclear war. A nuclear war would be devastating for everyone in the world, once one country fires their nukes every other country will also fire their nukes, and their will be a minimal number of areas that will not be effected either by the nuclear blast or the radiation. This gives you the high possibility of not surviving either the initial blast or dying from the radiation somewhere down the line. 

With the recent tensions rising between Russia and the US, and the usual high tensions between the US and China there is talk of a second cold war coming, and with that are the talks of a nuclear war being just beyond the horizon. The typically high tensions between Russia and the US have recently reached heights not seen since the cold war, with the new invasion into Ukraine, and US military planes being intercepted and chased by Russian aircraft. These few fact have pushed people to believe that it is inevitable that something is bound to happen which will trigger a war between the two. Even if a war starts, both will be hesitant to fire nuclear weapons, I believe if one country knows that they are going to lose and there is no hope for them to win, then they will launch their nuclear weapons to gather whatever chance there is that they might win. However this would end, not just the war, but most human life on the planet. The US and china have always had high tensions, however I think that it is extremely unlikely that the US and China will be going to war any time soon. The biggest wild card in this situation is North Korea, and that is for the simple fact that no one really has any idea what they are doing. They are wild, and seem to be flying by the seat of their pants, and no one really knows how they will react to anything. 

How you will react to a Nuclear war strictly depends on where you live. I live in a crowded city, this is somewhere that I will not want to be if this happens. I would head out of the city as quickly as possible, to somewhere as far away from civilization, or anything of military importance. The main thing you want to be aware of is there are military bases all over the world, some more important then others. I’m sure we have all hear of the military base under Cheyenne Mountain. This base is well known, it is also one of the main military head quarters for the US nuclear force. This is a place that I will stay away from when a nuclear war breaks out. 

With a nuclear war there is only a few things that you would be able to do to protect yourself against this. You can build a shelter underground that has a filtration system to keep you safe from both the blast and the radiation. You should also build a faraday cage around any of the electronics that you have so that you will be able to keep them safe from the EMP that comes along with every nuclear blast. I would also have a water source that would be secure and safe away from the radiation so that you do not get sick through that. Other then these things there is not much specific prepping that I would do for this.
