How the Apocalypse will Happen

If you talk to any preppers you will quickly find out that they all are preparing for something different. That is because there really isn't one agreed upon opinion of how the apocalypse is going to come about. Mainly because there are just so many ways in which it could come about. Some of these range anywhere from a zombie apocalypse, to an astroid, to a nuclear war. A few of these have also started to gain more followers because of the tensions rising between the US and Russia, and also because of movies that are coming out that show people getting sick and becoming zombies. I will be going over a few of the better known theories of how this will happen.

• Nuclear War.
• I think that this is the most logical, most dangerous, and the hardest to prep for. I believe this because the blast radius for nuclear bombs is expanding and it will be difficult to escape out of the range of all the bombs that will be dropped. I also believe that the radiation will spread and you will have to either be underground or will have to have chemical suits and be prepared to stay within those for months if not years before it is safe for you to go out. Most people believe that nuclear war is inevitable and it is not if it will happen but when. These people may be correct, and with the new tensions rising, they might be surprised how soon it will happen. Nuclear bombs have more problems then just the blast and the radiation. The biggest thing that could affect any country is the fact that even if the bomb does not hit the ground it will cause an EMP (electro magnetic pulse) which will cause all electronics to be rendered useless unless protected for this. There are a few ways in which you can do this, the most popular and cheapest being the faraday cage. There are many things you have to take into consideration when preparing for this, which means there are many variables that could cause trouble for you down the road. For this reason I believe this is the most dangerous of all the possibilities. 

• Disease.
• With the new ebola outbreak, and the cure no where in site, this is becoming much more prevalent. There are new diseases coming out every day, and there are old diseases sitting in vaults at labs that could accidentally be released causing mass casualties throughout the world. There are many things that you can do to protect against this. My favorite, and the easiest, is to just get away from people. The less contact that you make with people means that the less contact you will make with the sick people. However, with the past plaques that have come and gone will come once again which will destroy a lot of the population throughout the world. Would you be ready if tomorrow they announced that the black plaque is back? Most people wouldn’t be, and those people would be in great trouble.

• An attack on the power grid.
• An attack on the power grid seems more and more likely with the reports of ISIS on the border of the US, and the Chinese hacking into the network more and more often. This is not something that you will have to worry about exploding or dying by coughing up your own blood. This is something that you should be most worried about starving, dying of thirst, or being killed by people looking for food or water. This is something that most preppers will be able to handle if they have the right amount of food and water, and ways to get more of both. The worst need that you will have to prepare for is protecting the things you have. People will not hesitate to kill you if it means that they will survive, and you have to be willing to protect you and your family so that you will be able to prosper throughout this challenge.

• Economic collapse.
• With the US dollar becoming worth less money, and the economy declining. It is not unlikely that the economy will completely collapse and most people will lose everything that they own. When this happens people will be fighting for the resources that are left. Leaving you directly in the path of someone who is more then willing to kill you to save their own live. This will cause you to be in the situation of having to protect what is yours. 

• Zombie outbreak.
• Even though this could classify as a disease, I believe it deserves its own category for the fact that it has become so popular in the last few years. There are many ways that a zombie apocalypse could come around, but I believe that there arent very many ways you can stop an outbreak like this. In the movies, which is basically the only knowledge we have of this, there is really only one basic way to stop it and that is to kill them by shooting or hitting them in the head really hard. I think that this is unlikely but I figured that I would put it on here because of how popular it is.
